30 plus years breeding and raising beautiful, well rounded Labrador puppies that have given so many families unconditional love and joy. We thank each and every family that has gotten a Lab puppy from us over the years. You are what makes it not only possible, but worth it, for all the hard work to raise, socialize, expand horizons and train these precious babies.

Shadowmyst Labrador Retrievers is located in Oskaloosa, in southeast Iowa. Breeders of Champion, obedience, agility, barn hunt, scentwork and hunt titled Labradors.
Our lab puppies are bred for sound, sweet temperaments, sound bodies, intelligence and type. We train, show and work our own dogs.

Our goal is a multi-purpose Labrador that is sound in mind and body.

We are a small hobby kennel that started out in 1991. We own and operate our own Licensed Boarding Kennel and teach obedience, agility and hunt training classes
locally under the name of Shadowland Kennels Obedience Classes and Boarding.
We are members of the Des Moines Obedience Training Club (DMOTC),The Labrador Retriever Club, Inc.,
Midwest Labrador Retriever Club -MWLRC,Skunk River Hunting Retriever Association &  NAHRA.

Our breeding dogs are OFA clear on hips and elbows and eyes. Each of our dogs are worked in some arena of performance including
hunting, obedience, agility, tracking and therapy work. If you are interested in getting a purebred puppy and want to learn more about why

Dedicated to the multi-purpose Labrador Retriever, we strive to produce
dogs sound in body and mind. Our goal is to to maintain genetic
soundness, temperament, working ability and intelligence while
producing Labradors that meet the standard for the breed. We feel
strongly about doing our part in the ongoing struggle with pet
overpopulation. We sell companion puppies on limited registration.

Our responsibility is lifelong and we will take a
dog back at any age if the owners are ever unable to keep the dog. We
like to stay in contact with our puppy buyers and watch our puppies
grow and learn in their new homes.

Please note: We do not have or promote the false concept of Dilute (Silver/Charcoal/Champagne) “Labradors” as the dilute gene does not occur in purebred Labradors. This gene must be introduced from another breed, therefore, it is not a purebred Labrador.
